You know the old saying "variety is the spice of life"? Well, the older I get the more I crave variety, but the less I seem get. I tend to re-read the same books because I love the characters and I am loathe to let go of them, I drink the same diet root beer that I've drank for years, I have the same truck that I've had since 1994 (and I LOVE my little truck), and I even find that I order the same meal, I simply change restaurants.

Shall I continue? I think you get the point. Anyway, I have decided that the next time I go to Chili's, I will not oder anything that has the words "chicken fingers" in it, nor will I get a bottle of diet root beer from the same convenience store on my way to work. No more will I rotate the same five meals for dinner, or leave instructions on how to cook them b/c most of the time I'm at work for dinner, and neither will I sit at the end of the couch, in the place referred to by my children as "mommy's spot". Nope. I will order something that has chipotle seasoning, and I will find a new author whose books make me sigh or cry or laugh, and I will drink a new type of artificially sweetened beverage and I will sit in the curve of the couh. The days of eating at the IHOP at 2:00 AM and getting stuffed french toast are through! I think I'll have the taco salad, please........

bootie shot Here's a new pic of the fatties. They had just got out of the tub and Alex was showing her sisters how to write something, giving instructions, as ususal, and they were enraptured in her tutoring skills. NOT! Actually, they were arguing over who drew the best picture of a chicken! LOL! That's my girls. More later.......

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I hope everybody had a good turkey day. I went to eat with a friend from work (Tiffany) at her brothers' house. My parents and Troy and all three of my fatties went camping so I was a lost soul today..... That is, until my frined Tiff came through and invited me to eat with her family. It was all good. There was also a church in the area that brought food to all of the fire halls and EMS stations and to the 911 center for the people (like me) who weren't lucky enough to be off of work. I didn't actually eat any of the food-food b/c I was stuffed, but I ate some of the dessert and it was scrumptious. But that was very cool of them to think of us on the holiday!

So Tiffany and I were at Wal-Mart a week or so ago around 2:00 AM and we were talking and laughing and all of the sudden a voice comes over the speaker that says, "Murh, come to the front please, Murh." We looked at each other and then busted out laughing. We were like, "who or what the crapola is Murh?" So now when somebody does something stupid or ignorant we call 'em a Murh. Or if we need use s word that isn't accepted in polite company, we substitute Murh. We've got several people from work saying it as well. I love my job...

I have one sad note for the day. My friends Jay's mother passed away on Wednesday. He is really upset about it, which of course I can't blame him for being. She was in the hospital and was doing better, but Tuesday morning she took a huge turn for the worse and she passed away yesterday afternoon. Y'all keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers, please.

Okay. it's late and the bed is calling me. I have to go get the stuff for our shoe box drive at church tomorrow, so I've gotta get up at 9:00. Have a great weekend! More later.........

Hey Y'all!!!

Whew! It'e been like 6 months since I've posted!! I can't belive it! I really missed everybody....

Okay, so my computer went KABLAM!!!! That pretty much tells ya why I haven't been posting. I'll get internet at work in about 3 more months, and I thought I could hold out, but I was jonesing for some web surfing, so here I am. I have many stories to tell. Lost of them are about work, even more are about the fatties (who aren't so fat amymore) and a couple of them are about me. I'll start with this... I LOVE MY JOB!!! I have the best job (for me) on the planet. Sure, there are the occasional crapola days, and as with every job, there's some drama from my co-workers, but all in all, I have found my chosen profession, and it is law enforcement. Lots of people think that being a dispatcher isn't law enforcement, but without us, the po-po wouldn't know where to go or who to arrest (pretty much), and I've learned that we are an integral part of the entire law enforcement community. Dang. Lots of big words. Anyway, another cool thing is that I know every freakin' cop in the county where I work, and trust me, there are advantages...

Okay, the fatties are good. Shelby started Kindergarter this year. She cried every day for the first couple of weeks, but now she's little miss educated. Alex was sick a couple of weeks ago and missed a day of school and I just knew Shel would fake sick too so she didn't have to walk in alone, but Shelby got out of the car at the door and walked in by her little self, just like she was 40. I was so proud of her! Alex is in the first grade, and I  absolutely can not stand her teacher. She has zero compassion, and she talks to parents like we're uneducated wackos. Needless to say, she and I have already had a run-in or two. If it weren't so close to the middle of the school year, Alex would be coming out of her class quick, fast and in a hurry!! Shelby will NOT be in her class next year. I'll see to that.......

Zoe is staying at home with me during the day until I go to work, then she goes to either my ex sister-in-law's house or my momma's house. She's becoming VERY rotten. All of the attention is going to her head. She doesn't start school until 2008, so I'll have to figure out a way to break her of the clingy-mommy thing before then because I don't want her to be a brat. Suggestions?

The marriage continues to get worse. Here's a good example. Tuesday morning at about 3:45, I woke up feeling like I was gonna hurl. We have a "bucket" that we use, and it was in the girls' room b/c Alex had been sick. Anyway, she sleeps on the top bunk and I was afraid that if I reached for it that I would puke on her, so I went to the bedroom door and asked him if he would get it for me. He got up, heaved a huge "I can't believe you're bothering me with this" sigh, went and got the bucket, handed it to me, and then proceeded to go back into the bedroom and shut the door. I commenced to hurling, about 5 times in fact. But anyway, I guess he didn't want my sickliness disturbing his sleep, even though his alarm had already gone off...TWICE!! But I digress....

So, how is everyone?!?!?!?!?!? I hope somebody actually remembers me and reads this post. I'm gonna go visit some sites when I get home from work tonight. Right now, I gotta jet. It's time to start getting ready, and I'm dispatching the Sheriff's Office aka S.O tonight, and it's my favorite, so YAY!!! Y'all be safe and I'll talk to ya soon.............

Back to posting on a more regular basis. I'm going to post at least twice a week, and more if I have time. After all, I just renewed my premium subscription. I don't want to waste it

Zoe was sick all night last night. There's a stomache bug going around and she got it. She started throwing up around seven last night, and every forty-five minutes or so, she'd have a repeat performance. I went in the bedroom at four this morning and got my husband up to come in here with her so I could get an hour of sleep, so needless to say, I'm pooped. But hey, this is a post, albeit a short one, but a post. I'll have to tell y'all about some of the cool and crazy stuff that happens at work, but it'll be Friday or Saturday, when I'm off this week. I've only been there for a couple of months and I already have some seriously cool stories...Have a great rest of the week. More later.............

P.S. I miss you, Caroline....

Hey y'all!!! I'm sorry I've not posted in so long. I got pulled to first shift, so I've been trying to adjust to the time change.....again. The amount of calls I was getting on third shift just wasn't helping me learn what I needed to, but after a couple of weeks on first, I'm passed the "call taking" stage, and yesterday I started dispatching the Sheriff's Office deputies. I really like telling a bunch of cops where to go and what to do, whether they like it or not. And the fact that there are a bunch of people out there, both law enforcement personnel and people in scannerland, who are listening to me makes me feel all giddy and stuff. Given the fact that my fatties never seem to listen to anything that I say, that's a refreshing change

I hate to come back on xanga with a sad post, but I just received some terrible news. Some of you know LoriCat. She is a cancer survivor, a hoster of families from third world countries, a lover of cats, and a thrift store shopper extraordinaire.......I got an e-mail today from her cousin, Natalie, telling me that this past Thursday, Lori passed away. It makes me very sad. Lori was a very sweet person with strong faith in God and a love of life that only a person who's been through a lot and prevailed can have. She's been ill for quite some time, and it's been several months since she's posted, so I was already worried about her. I would like to say that even though I only spoke to her on the phone a time or two, and we swapped many comments on our Xanga sites, that I wll greatly miss her.

I'm glad that y'all are still with me after my xanga neglect. Hopefully I didn't bum you out with the bad news about Lori. I'll be visiting some of y'all's sites in the next couple of days, I promise. I've missed you!!! Gotta go cook for the fatties. More later.............
